So far in 2010, we have had the following results as we continue to fight poverty on the front lines throughout El Paso County.
· Twenty-three clients have obtained their Certified Nursing Assistant Degrees through our Transitions to Independence Program and 1 has earned a substitute teaching certification.
· Two clients have completed post-secondary education through our matched savings Individual Development Accounts (IDA) Program.
· Twenty-Six “at-risk” teens have stayed in high school and have received over $37,000 in tuition assistance through our Youth Education $avings Program.
· Nearly 800 households (over 4,000 people) received over 1,200 services and have been stabilized through our Family Stabilization Services.
The entire PPCAA team (Volunteers, Staff, and Board) has been instrumental in achieving those outcomes. We remain passionate and committed to our mission. Together we will continue to work hard to help our fellow citizens through these tough economic times and remain truly self-sufficient. It is a very good thing that our National Economy is showing signs of sustainable recovery and PPCAA remains committed to serving our neighbors during good times and bad times as we have done since 1964.
