TIP is an intensive self-sufficiency program offering services to participants motivated to becoming self-sufficient. These services primarily focus on short-term certifications, training, and improving life skills.
We offer participants assistance with certification and short-term training fees, licensing fees, books fees (if not covered by financial aid) and supportive counseling. The TIP Program manager works with participants and various community-based organizations to build collaborative networks of support.
4 STEPS TO TIP
#1: ORIENTATION
Attend an Orientation. As an added bonus, you will hear about our IDA program.
#2: APPLICATION
The application is available at the end of orientation. Please fill it out completely and return it to our office.
*Please Note: Any taxable income, for the entire household, must be reported on the application. Your income must exceed or equal your expenses to qualify for this program. All individuals applying for this program who are currently receiving SSDI will be referred to the social security office to enroll in the SS re-vocational program.
#3: SCORING
The TIP Program Manager will score your application.
If your score does not meet program guidelines, you will receive a letter from the TIP Program Manager with specific referrals to accomplish readiness for the TIP program. Once you have achieved these benchmarks, you may call and make an appointment to be re-evaluated for acceptance into the program.
If your score meets program guidelines, the TIP Program Manager will call you to set up an Intake & Assessment appointment. At this appointment, you will be interviewed and your case plan and timeline will be created. Allow one hour for this appointment.
#4: ACCEPTANCE & EXPECTATIONS
After acceptance into the TIP program, you will meet monthly with your case manager. Monthly appointments MUST be scheduled in advance over the phone. (NO walk-ins allowed!) At these appointments, you will be able to submit your requests for financial assistance. Clients must pay their agreed upon portion of tuition BEFORE PPCAA will pay any remaining tuition. You will also review/revise your case plan and submit any completion of goals at these appointments. If you are not achieving your goals, you will be terminated from the program. After you achieve your goal in the TIP program, follow-up appointments will occur at 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 1-year intervals to allow us to follow your success. |
